In case you didn’t know, I’m Nadege. An entrepreneur, Coach, Speaker, cultural Ambassador, master of my own fate, and your very own personal cheerleader! Living life passionately in NYC! If you landed on this site accidentally, stick around and have a read, hopefully while having a drink. It will make me seem a bit funnier.
I spent the first 10 years of my post high school years trying to decide who and what I wanted to be when I grow up. I know, that’s pretty long to try to decide on a career, but it wasn’t until the last decade that I came to the realization that I didn’t have to decide on a career. I could craft my dream into reality and create a life and business to fulfill all my desires. I finally decided to create a space that answered to my love of food, need to serve, ability to create, penchant for great gatherings and strong desire to see others succeed. I created this website. Unlike most consulting or coaching website this space is different. It is suited for me and others like me, who want to craft their own path.
Having held a degree in Political Science, from Columbia University, my path was pretty set by family who wanted nothing more than to see a lawyer in the family. And for a long time, I believed that’s where it would lead. Even after founding my catering company, I had my doubts about entrepreneurship. Doubts that lasted for years because it was not the expected path for me by family. As a successful 15 year culinary professional and caterer (clickable to catering website) who had catered All over the United States for some amazing individuals and companies(Dr. Mehmet Oz’s organization Healthcorps, Paul Weiss, Stephen Colbert, BET, Vivica Fox, Ogilvy & Mather and even the White House to name a few) many friends and colleagues saw the potential and talent within the field and wanted nothing more than to see me evolve in that arena. And only that arena. But something wasn’t quite right. I loved cooking, and catering is an amazing outlet to share that love, but it is not all I am.
I also love writing. Hence, why I wrote two books (check them out here). My patriotism and love for my home country, Haiti, ran deep. Thus, I thought it essential to share its beauty, culture and amazing history with the rest of the world. My coffee table cookbook Haiti Uncovered, allowed me the space to do just that: explore my analytical side through analysis of food, culture, gender and class all while allowing me to educate the world about an amazing country, people and cuisine. Not to mention there are some kick ass recipes and pretty pictures.
